Why is this a loan scam?

• The email addressed used free Gmail and Outlook addresses.
• The email was mass-mailed to many recipients using BCC.
• Despite it appearing that the email is part of a conversation between the sender and the recipient about a loan application, the recipient has never applied for a loan from the sender.
• The domain quoted in the email (robertfastcapital.com) is not registered.
