Loan Scam – email@example.com
The below loan scam email was sent to an email address that exists only to catch scam emails. It has never been used to register on any site, only to communicate with scammers.
From: Flora Lorenz <firstname.lastname@example.org> To: undisclosed-recipients:; Subject: COVID-19 Relief Package for you Reply-To: email@example.com
Hope you’re safe out there and practicing good hygiene.
With reference to the subject above, you are eligible to receive our relief package of up to 25,000 Euros at 0.5% interest rate and repayment within 9 months. This package is designed to help you curb the financial impact caused as a result of the COVID 19 outbreak.
Please note that following the unprecedented number of loan applications we’ve received as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, we will be
disbursing loans to eligible applicants via EU-EU SEPA Transfer (Please note that transfer charges may apply) on a “First Come, First
Served” basis, so hurry now and send your full information and bank account details to firstname.lastname@example.org to get started.

Why is this a loan scam?
- It was sent from a totally different email address to the one that you are asked to reply to.
- The Reply-to address in the header is a free Gmail address.
- The email was mass-mailed to many recipients using BCC.
- The email gives no indication of where the company offering the loan are based or who they are regulated by.
